Free Money II: TPT

Think of your best lesson ever. You know which lesson: THE Lesson. The one you poured your heart and soul into and you LOVED delivering to your students and they loved it too. Well, let that lesson love you back and help you earn money (that you'll probably just pour right back into your classroom).

I put a TON of effort into my lessons, activities, and worksheets. Once I was out of the classroom, I was kind of sad that they weren't being used anymore. On a whim, I opened my own Teachers Pay Teachers store called Throwing Glitter. [I know- I've got glitter issues.] I chose to list everything for $1 and not to pay for the membership because I'm cheap. I put up a few of my lessons here, there and anytime I thought about it. Not much happened.

At first.

Then, someone bought a worksheet for $1. Then another, and another. Then I realized after a few months that if I priced my stuff like everyone else did, I would have made the $50+ back, so I took a deep breath, changed the prices, created a PayPal and paid the fee. I started pinning some of my stuff on Pinterest and within a month or two, I made back my investment.

After that, I decided to start adding more- so I would tweak a few things and post them, then pin them. This year (2019), I made back the membership fee in about two weeks. I've already made over to $200 profit since January, and I don't even have that much in my store!

Just think! These are lessons/worksheets/activities I already had and now they are making money for me. I could have used that $200 in the classroom to buy card stock and poster boards and dry erase markers, and, for the love of Pete, PERMANENT MARKERS (they constantly went missing).

Check out the picture of my most popular item- it's one page of group role cards- I had it already made for a project and listed it for $1.50. I've made almost $50 on that! I've made well over $100 on all the cheerleading forms I've made over the years. My point is this: I've already done this work. Now it works for me with minimal effort on my end. You can do the same- put up stuff you've already done and let it pay for the items you want for your classroom. **TIP: Pinning my stuff on Pinterest doubled my sales, so make sure you do this- and if you can get added to a group board, even better.

LPPS TEACHERS- If you are an LPPS teacher and want anything from the store, just e-mail me from your LPSB account and I will e-mail it to you. Definitely don't pay for it, we are on the same team. :-)
